Title: Zimbabwe dollars
Post by: Wild Man on November 25, 2017, 06:22:59 PM
With Zimbabwe appearing in the news so much recently, itís interesting to note the hyperinflation that destroyed that countryís monetary system.  The 1st dollar, in use from 1983 to 2006 was replaced in 2006 with the 2nd dollar, dropping 10 zeros off the value (10,000,000,000 1st dollars=1 2nd dollar).

Just two years later the 3rd dollar replaced the second dollar, again dropping 10 zeros off the value and a year after that the 4th dollar was introduced, dropping 12 zeros off the value.  Two months later (April 2009) the Zimbabwe dollar was abandoned altogether.  By that time, the 4th dollar was worth 2x1035 1st dollars (100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000)
